Carbon composition resistors are made up of a solid cylindrical restrictive element with embedded wire lead-outs or metal ends caps. This resistors are protected with paint or plastic.The spiral is used which increase the resistance.
In this type of resistance element is made from mixture of powdered carbon and an insulating material such as ceramic.
Resin is used to hold the mixture.
The ratio filled material determined the resistance of the resistor.Less carbon is added in order to increase the resistance.
